Intro

In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger shocked the wrestling world by taking an active role behind the scenes in the newly rebranded World Championship Wrestling. Fourteen years later, WCW is an international company in long-standing alliances and wars, with a product and an image molded by its owner. Follow the company as it continues its history and shows the world what it truly means to be the best.

(Outside of universe, this is a diary for my long-running TEW save started in Genadi's The Superfly Effect database, that I have played up to 2001 over the span of four years. There's a lot of history that has been changed, so every so often I'll try and play catchup - but otherwise, let me take you for a ride!)

Long time no see! (2002 Recap)

Hey! So as I've been struggling with college and... life in general, as a disabled trans person, I've taken to just booking without posting anything so I could use TEW for stimulation. As a result, I'm now in May of 2003 - yeah, I've done over a year since the last post! I'm going to very, very briefly try and sum up some of the major beats of 2002, and then I'm going to focus on booking through Bash of the Beach 2003. Following BATB is going to be the first trades in the brand split, plus it's my second biggest PPV of the year. After that, I'll work on an updated roster, title histories/championships, and getting the Starrcade 2002 card posted up just for fun. Check the quick retrospective below the cut!

World Championship Wrestling Roster, circa February 2002

So, about half a year has passed, and it's time to see how the landscape of WCW has changed and how it hasn't! Since we have two brands this time around, I'm going to split the roster accordingly. As with last time, yet-to-debut workers and teams will not be included, nor will talent only on loan for a brief amount of time. Workers under new gimmicks will have their most well known name in brackets. Unlike last time, road agents and strictly backstage personnel will not be included in the list. Heels will be in red, faces will be in blue.

January 2001 - The Road to The Big Bang

So, this is kind of going to be a slow news month. Most of the set up to The Big Bang has just been dream matches, title contention, and the draft. As a result, there's not really a lot to write about. In addition to the set up for the show, I'll talk about some changes in my save from 2001 to 2002 and what led up to them, in-universe. Thanks and see you below!

World Championship Wrestling Roster, circa July 2003

Over a year on from the last update, it's about time for a roster update! Same rules as last time: split by brand, no purely off-screen...
