Intro

In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger shocked the wrestling world by taking an active role behind the scenes in the newly rebranded World Championship Wrestling. Fourteen years later, WCW is an international company in long-standing alliances and wars, with a product and an image molded by its owner. Follow the company as it continues its history and shows the world what it truly means to be the best.

(Outside of universe, this is a diary for my long-running TEW save started in Genadi's The Superfly Effect database, that I have played up to 2001 over the span of four years. There's a lot of history that has been changed, so every so often I'll try and play catchup - but otherwise, let me take you for a ride!)

WCW Starrcade 2001

83,464 in attendance at the Silverdome in Pontiac, MI.

The biggest show of the year - it's time for Starrcade! Sting clashes with Dwayne Johnson in the main event, the first true battle between Nitro & Thunder takes place, and two of the men who defined professional wrestling are going to face off for the very first time. It's a night full of can't miss action - it's Starrcade.

December 2001 - The Road to Starrcade

 When I started booking shows for the month, my wrist pain still hadn't gone. We're sticking with this format for that reason, and we might stick with it for the foreseeable future. Being able to summarize everything in a write-up has made booking move significantly faster. I'll hate missing out on some of the more precise details, but if this continues to work better for my energy level it's what I'm going to keep doing. So without further ado - here's the build to Starrcade 2001!
